Fitness Era of Us 30s and 40s!
Working out feels a little challenging especially for working moms like me. The need to juggle household chores, tasks at work, and of course, mother duties tend to be overwhelming at times.
That's why planning the day a head really helps a lot. I keep a journal yup. This allows me to organize my tasks within the day; cross off the tasks I have done and completed from my to-do-list and summarize the highlights of my day. With this, I get to plan my workout ahead of time. I created my own routine actually.
Monday = yoga morning and stepper workout
Tuesday = dumbbells workout and brisk walking
Wednesday - 1 hour Zumba
Thursday = yoga morning, brisk walking, and dumbbells workout
Friday = 1 hour Zumba and 30 minutes hip-hop dance
Saturday = 30 minutes dumbbells and kettlebell workout, 3 minutes planking
Sunday = 1 hour stepper workout
If you' wondering where I bought this mini stepper, I bought it from TikTok. (Check out from my yellow basket)
It's really a good find. Imagine, working out at the comfort of your own time, without being embarrassed with the jiggling flabs. Haha! Because gym time really takes most of my time 45 minutes to 1 hour of my time--that's why I bought this mini stepper so I can workout at home. From 74 kilograms, I'm now down to 69 kilograms. Actually, I reached 67 kilograms last month but for some reason (girl cravings), I craved salty foods every time I'm on my period, so there I think I loaded up on junk (which is not good) so there, I gained 2 kilograms.
But guys, you know what, this mini stepper as I was saying, was really a great find! It helped me regulate my blood pressure because it got elevated last 2020 when I had my baby. But now, my bp is normal. Regular exercise really works! Plus diet of course. I have become 85 to 90% vegan since 2023. I still eat pork but it was very rare like once a year or twice. If the pork was cooked very tender mixed with vegetables and pancit.
Also, I only eat rice once a day. I guess I'm on a OMAD diet. Because I eat small portions everyday. I just eat 45 grams of viand for protein (no pork) 120 grams of rice for brunch. Yes, my breakfast and lunch in one. I just drink water (room temperature) and sometimes, 230 ml of Ice ade watermelon or blueberry lemon drink twice a week. Also, I lessened my iced coffee to twice a month. For snacks, I just eat wheat bread (tasty will do Filipinos if there's no wheat bread) with cream cheese if I'm craving for salty in the evening. 40 grams of potato chips if craving are intense, but I don't eat chips everyday--this should be every other day. Eliminate chips if you can! But here's the thing, I don't eat after 10 PM latest! Much better if you can do the fasting earlier like 8pm to 9pm. But for me, I can do 9pm and 10pm latest for fasting. Because I go to bed as early as 9 pm and 10 PM is the latest. Sleep early and there goes your fasting!
Come on guys, believe me when I say exercising really works and it has benefits. Go and grab your mini stepper and exercise from home or anywhere, it's portable and easy to carry. It comes with a timer and a resistance band for arms workout even. Buy now!
